Hi there. I have a 16gb ipod touch with the 2.2 firmware and it's jailbroken.
I downloaded the mplayer app from cydia and I was wondering how do you create the /private/var/media folder for it? I know you have to ssh into it,but once you get into the ipod's file thing, how do you create the /private/var/media folder on your ipod touch? please help!
    Thanks,itouchgirl2009

Get OpenSSH from Cydia, and those folders should already be there when you SSH

well, the truth is I'm using diskaid. diskaid is a ssh alternative. also, how do you make a symlink for /private/var/media to ~/library/downloads? ~/library/downloads is where my stuff that I download from safari using the Safari download plugin. so,do you go to the root folder and then go to private
and then go to rar and then make a media folder?
    please help.
    Thanks,itouchgirl2009

    WOW...

OK you have your directory wrong...

    its... and i quote...

    "/private/var/mobile/Media

if you want downloads for safari then...

    /private/var/mobile/Media/Downloads

Make sure that Media and Downloads are capital, or it will not recognize it

When you install Mewseek Pro, it will make a folder in the Media folder called Mewseek... Anything else goes wrong, then PM me or e-mail me a Coomcman2@Gmail.com

    FOR DISKAID!!!

AT THE MOMENT, YOU CANNOT CREATE SYMLINKS!!! If you don't know what you are doing, then don't DO IT!! I have had many people ruin their ipods and iphones for this reason...

You mess up and you have to restore...
    Best of luck

    Peace...

If you have terminal run the following command. You probably will have to be under root so run "su" first (password should be "alpine" unless you changed it).

    That should make the directory.

You then will probably want to fix the permissions. Run this command now (capitalization has to be the same).
That should be everything, if any questions let me know.
