You click NOR only restore and select your original 2.2.1 and create the firmware. Restore to the new IPSW on your desktop.

I have a untethered JB. So, to use a custom FW, I must:

put the iPod Touch in DFU
apply the boot logo with logomanager
do a NOR only restore (using which firmware)
and then I'm free to go?

It makes a firmware with the logos in it. Yes. If it gives an error try making a logo free NOR FW, and restore to it.

    No DFU mode, Recovery Mode.
