I have a IPOD Touch that is 2.0 or 2.1.1 something like that, and when i try to download some apps it says that software 3.0 update is required. How do i update that? does it have to be done through my computer or can i do it on the IPOD? Also is there a cost to update?

Please help i really need a app that requires 3.0!!!!

^^ if you're not going to help then why post...

To the OP - you'll need to update through iTunes to the latest 3.1 firmware. There will be a charge.

if its not jailbroken u have no worries if u dont care about jailbreaking it. to update u have to plug ur ipod into the computer then it will tell u theres an update and ask u if u want to update. for the ipod touch the firmware does cost tho. DO NOT UPDATE IF U WANT IT TO BE JAILBROKEN. they have released the tools to jailbreak the new 3.1 yet
