I need help.
First of all, I pity you for using Earthlink. But that's beside the point.
Does Earthlink allow POP3 or IMAP e-mail?
If such is not the case, you probably have to use Safari to go to their website and check your e-mail that way.
yes i kno earthlink sucks.
i have a gmail, but I'v had the earthlink longer and that is where most of my business emails are located.
idk how to check tht.
sry for nubness.
how do i find tht out?
I'm not 100% what the policy is for linking to web pages outside of iPod Touch Fans, so just do this:
- On your iPod, go to earthlink . net (without the spaces) in Safari
- On the top towards the left it says "Web Mail", click (or touch) on that
- Log in with your Earthlink username and password
- It should show you your e-mails and everything after that
------------------double post merged------------------Actually, do you use Outlook, Mail, Thunderbird or any other e-mail program to check your Earthlink e-mail? Or do you just go to their website to check your e-mail?
i had been doing that before. it just seems like it would be easier to use the mail app.
i just figured it out tho.
thanks for ur help
just the website
Are you using the Mail app now though?
Because I know how you can set it up. I was being ignorant before. lol
i just tried it and it didnt work.
what is your way?
Well, go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Add Account (at the top).
Then after you hit that, go to "Other".
Fill in your information.
After you hit Save it should bring up more settings for you to type in.
If it asks, make sure it is set to POP3 (I doubt Earthlink supports IMAP).
For the incoming server, type "pop.earthlink.net" and for the outgoing type "smtpauth.earthlink.net". Type your full username (make sure you put your FULL e-mail address) and password in every spot that it asks for it and type Done or Save or whatever. Then it should hopefully work. It may take a minute or two to contact the server and set up the account, just wait through it.
If it has any popup messages, just hit OK, don't hit Cancel or whatever.
thanks so much
