    Make a free account.

Go into the app store(on your computer),
Go to FREE APPS, choose one to download.
It will ask you to make an account, do that.
It SHOULDN'T ask for any CC info.
    Thats how i made mine!

    go to the itunes store
    pick any free app
    click "buy it."
    (dont worry, it's free)
then it'll ask you for your account
    click "create new account"
    fill it out
choose "none" as you're payment method

Try signing up for a Google Voice account. They will let you pick a phone number then you can use that number to receive voicemail and send and receive text messages. It is a free service. The only catch is you may have to wait for an invite, you can go to the site and request an invite and when one become available they will send it to you.
