How do I remove built-in icons?

    I have a jailbroken ipod touch 2g 3.0, with cydia and openSSH.

    now I want to remove the 'Maps' and 'Mail' from the desktop.
    how do I do that?

    Put them in a folder OR hide the with SBSettings OR use blank icons

    in stall sbsettings
    activate it and click the more button
    go to hide icons
    set maps and mail to off

    Open SSH is used for file transferring

    You could always delete them using SSH. They're located in /Applications although I don't recommend this.

    I have used iPhoneBrowswer (which can be found here) to replace the icons for the default applications.

    Simply go to the Applications folder, locate the app you want to change the icon for, and replace the icon with a right click. Very easy, hasn't caused me any problems, so far.

    Attatched is my dock, and using the above method, I changed the iPod icon to something a little cooler.
