    Many people say it doesn't work for the 2g MC and I'm starting to think mine is 2g. I bought it at November of 2009. It came with voice memos. Has Speakers.

    its the 2g MC if 8gb
    its the 3g if its 32gb or 64gb

    those models were the ones released at that time, thats about when i got mine

    To find out the model, check the model number on the back of the device:

    iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288
    iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318

    Mine says: Model No. A1318
