How do i make my own icons using the .psd file?

    I want to make more icons but i have no idea what the .psd file does or what program i need to do it. Can someone give me a link to a tut or just tell me plz?

    .psd is for photoshop
    when it is in .psd it means the layers are editible
    correct me if i am wrong

    psd is photoshop design. it includes all the layers and effects used on them. (you need photoshop)

    i dont think it supports psd files. and gimp just doesnt compare to photoshop

    but photoshop is like 600 dollars isnt it?

    quick question, I was actually just making a icon image on my photoshop, but for some strange reason I cant save it as a .png file. can anyone help me here?
