How do I make my iPod touch (1st generation) show up on my Windows XP desktop?

    My iPod touch doesn't show up on my desktop. I really want it to so I can use it as a disk drive without having to SSH into it every time. Please help!!!!!!!

    I'm not sure you can.
    SSHing isn't that hard anyways.

    are u in 1.1.X
    if so then use this program called iphone pc suite
    u can access ur memos, contacts, songs, videos, files, almost everytin using it
    but ur ipod wont show up as an icon...but u can access ur files using this without wifi...it may work on 2.0 but im not sure

    No, it's encrypted. It will never show up on your desktop for obvious reasons that Apple won't allow. You can use SSH, iPhoneTunnelSuite, or iPhoneBrowser, to view the files.

    i guess you could create a shortcut which opened a SSH thing which connected to your ipods default ip...

    That is nowhere near what he's talking about. He's talking about putting the iPod into Disk Mode.

    oh i didnt realise that... so he wants it like... when u put in a memory stick and then click on the shortcut on the desktop to it :\
