My iPod touch is 1.1.1 jailbroken.

I want to make it 1.1.4 jailbroken, but I dont want to lose any of my apps?

    Anyway to do this?

Apparently, you should be able to re-sync your iPod with iTunes, and receive the apps again.

If i SSH to my comp, copy all the files as a backup.

update to 1.1.4, jailbrake it, then put the backup back in.

    Would it work?

The problem there ^^^^^ is, some 1.1.1 apps will need upgrading to 1.1.3-1.1.4 apps for compatability. i.e. the 1.1.1 apps won't work with 1.1.3 and above.

I think the easiest method would be to download the 1.1.3 firmware and use something like the ZiPhone jailbreak, then reinstall all the latest apps (upgrade the apps). I THINK you could go straight to the 1.1.4 firmware and jailbreak that now, but I'm not sure.

I don't think it's worth trying to KEEP the 1.1.1 apps as a lot of them won't work, sorry.

K, there are ways to do this but I'm not even gonna suggest anything since they are just so outdated. Going straight from a jailbroken FW to another jailbroken FirmWare is what is called a Soft Jailbreak, nowadays people just use Hard Jailbreaks, which is jailbreaking a newly restored firmware.

Please do not use ZiPhone, for your own sake. Here are a few steps

    :

    1. Restore and tell iTunes to make your iPod a new one, change the name of it too.

    2. Use iLiberty+ to jailbreak your iPod. Done.

    Hope that helps.
