How do i get .ipsw files?

    Im restoring my iPod Touch on 1.1.4 and i downloaded the 1.1.4 Firmware but how do i change it to a .ipsw file? I tried out that vid on youtube but it didnt seem to work?

    If its firmware then it should already be a .ipsw file. Try download another one.

    Ok so im downloading a firmware from Spoonforknife's thread with the FW downloads.

    The file im downloading has a .ipsw.zip at the end what are my steps imn turning it into a .ipsw file?

    Oh I see. You just need to unzip it. Try rightclicking and there might be something saying unzip? I cant remember, i use Winrar for things like that. Im downloading it now so I can see for myself.

    On downloading the one from that thread, its not .zip soooo you should be fine with it =]

    Mine turned up as a Folder when i downloaded it..

    are you using safari?? It unzips automaticly. Try firefox.

    Try to download 1.1.5 instead of 1.1.4 btw.
    Can't you download it true iTunes??
