I read a few posts about backing up data from apps like weather or stocks, but recently I re-installed operating system due to hard-drive corruption, which meant I had to reinstall iTunes; now iTunes thinks I have a new library and when I attempt to sync, it says everything on my iPhone will be erased and replaced by whatever I'm syncing. So I'm planning to let it sync, then after syncing move back everything that's backed up. What would I need to copy in order to backup everything on my iPhone, including all installed/downloaded Cydia apps/tools/etc, all app/game data, music, videos, and others? And please show me how to do it. Thanks!

your stuff you bought off itunes could be redownloaded for free with check for avalible downloads in itunes. For jailbroken stuff they should stay as long as you dont restore. Music and vids just ssh them into your computer and sync them back. DUnno bout app data tho.

I already transferred purchases. The main thing I care about are the app data and music/video/contacts/etc. I need to basically somehow back up everything onto my computer, sync my iPhone (and don't really care what gets deleted), and then re-insert all those files back into the iPhone after done syncing.

    Var file?
    Can you be more specific?

You can backup your data using iTunes.
    1. View the contents of your iphone.
    2. Connect iphone to your computer.
    3. Get ready to restore the iphone.
    4. Back up your data.
    5. iTunes will ask you if you would like to back up the data stored on your iPhone. This is a good idea, as restoring your iPhone will delete all of your data. Click "Back Up" to save your data.
    6. Once the back up is complete, iTunes will automatically start the restoration process. The application tells you it is extracting the software it needs to restore your iPhone.
    7. Iphone restored.
