I downloaded a custom slider but which folder do I drop it in?? I currently have it in private/var/stash/Themes.miQH2r
in that folder I have all the folders of my themes so I dropped this single .png image in there which is a custom slider I got off this site. Yet it won't show up in Winterboard, what am I doing wrong?

Copy/put them into your Themes.miQH2r folder

The slider folder should be setup like this:
    Slider Name/Bundles/com.apple.TelephonyUI

Inside the com.apple.TelephonyUI folder, there should be:

    bottombarknobred.png (power slider)
    bottombarknobgray.png (main slider)
    bottombarlocktextmask.png (highliight mask)

Remember that WinterBoard is setup like a hierarchy, the one highest on the list will override the one lowest on the list, so if you've chosen two sliders on accident, then one highest will be active.

Easiest way to customize your ipod is to download themes, sliders, etc etc via Cydia and SSH into your ipod and copy them onto your computer to see how they go together, you can edit them too.

and for sliders and such, WinterBoard has TONS!!!
