I don't know how I did it but i just found that if I double tap the home button, what is currently on the screen "moves up", gets very transparent and I can scroll the dock at the bottom. I can scroll through my apps down there AND if I scroll all the way to the left I get music controls! However it happened, I love it!

It's only for 3G iTouch on iOS4 and iPhone 4.

It is not a jailbreak feature, it is an apple feature. It is part of iOS4.

u can always enable it on 2g ipods and 3g iphones... by editing the N72AP.plist (if your ipod) in springboard.app or N82AP.plist (if iphone) also in springboard.app. there is a thread on this also. and yes that is multitasking.

Yeah, it's multitasking. Any apps you have used since booting up the iPod touch will appear. So you can easily switch apps. Press the icon for a few seconds and tap the - icon to close them.
