I've an iPod Touch 3G 32GB whose Model-Number starts with "MC". Yesterday, I jailbroke it with Blackra1n RC3. It went well. But, it seems I need to jailbreak it again on every reboot to use.

On reboot, it gets stuck at the 'iTunes connect USB' screen. Gets fixed only on Jailbreak.

    Is there any solution?
Where can I obtain Apple Official 3.1.1 Firmware for iPod Touch?

This problem is because you have a 3g ipod touch all ipod touch 3g's are tethered and not only the 8gb 3g. youw ill have to either run blackra1n every time or restore and wait for green poison.

nope Ipod Touch 3G cannot downgrade to anything below 3.1 as they dont support firmwares below that, just like the Ipod Touch 2G cannot downgrade to anything below 2

    Why not just restore?

My Internet connection is kinda crappy and I'm afraid if that would goof up the restoration process.

Also cuz i've a feeling I may have to do this often. So it's cool to keep a copy ready...

    Read what tethered/untethered means.

Read the topic about battery life tips (and you'll see it's actually better to put it in sleep mode than turn it off, unless you know you won't touch it for a few days or something -highly unlikely- then you could probably turn it off).

    Read !

    Why do I even bother...

You bother because you like to help?

and a rubbish internet connection would not goof up the restoration progress, just make it slower than normal

Oh, can anyone give me a link to the article supporting the view that it is better to sleep than shut down?

I'm skeptic since won't that drain the battery faster? Can anyone speak from experience?
