I have just brought an iTouch and whenever I plug it in iTunes would pop up saying. "This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes." I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it five times and still no resolution please help.

Are you sure you're using the correct version of iTunes? You have to select "64 Bit" iTunes on the download page, as it seems like you're running a 64 Bit OS.
