my device is on 3.1.2 firmware and is jailbroken with the first blackra1n, rc1 I believe. I tried to restore it but it keeps telling me that the device isn't eligible for the requested build.

every time i press restore or update, this happens. how am I supposed to upgrade to 3.1.3 or 4.0.1??

    help please, thanks.

Apple has stopper signing this so they will cancel your request to restore to 3.1.2 instead you have to go on the web and download an iOS4 firmware IPSW then restore to that firmware by option clicking on Mac or alt click I think on Windows then select the firmware click open and you'll be done. To jailbreak use jailbreakme there is a thread about why don't you go check it out Best Regards PackersEagles10
