How can I tell if the unlock worked?

This has been such a nightmare. Finally talked to a supervisor again this morning, and while on the phone with her she did some stuff on her end and then said that I could go restore the iPhone and the unlock would be complete. So I restored it... What was supposed to happen? Was I supposed to see a message? Did the baseband number change or something? How can I verify that it worked?

Insert the SIM card of the carrier you want to be on (any besides the carrier you started with) and see if you can make calls...

Just for future reference. After the restore was complete you should see this:

Hey @red_5 they told me my phone would be unlocked by April 24th but it still hasn't. I dont have any AT&T services so I cannot contact them online. How long should I keep waiting?

Check spam folder, if you haven't already. If they really didn't email you yet just call. Give them case # or IMEI and have them see if the case is still open.

Call and ask for a supervisor. You wouldn't believe how pushy I had to be to get a lady on who actually did it for me right then and there.

It worked, but I never actually saw the confirmation in iTunes. One thing I suspect is that one has to have either no SIM or a non-AT&T SIM in to get the message...

Idk if I can do that cause I'm not assertive. If I don't get an email this week though I will call.
