So how am I going to do this? I still am covered with Apple's one year limited warranty. And should I pay for shipping and all that?

nope, just call Apple Care (Check Apple Website). Describe the problem to the customer support, they'll suggest a couple of solutions, if all else fails, then will send you a box, you put your iPod in the box and ship it out (Free). They cover everything, And they will replace your iPod Touch.

either that or head to the nearest apple retailers store such as Cancom and tell them and they will ship it off for you

But I've heard that if I am over 6 months of the warranty, I would have to pay for shipping. Is this true?

No. The warranty has not expired yet. But from what I've heard, even if you're still on warranty right after six months, you will have to pay for shipping but not the replacement/service you're asking for.

That's incorrect, as long as you have warranty on your ipod you don't have to pay. BTW what is your problem?

So when you report it, that's when the repair date actually counts and not after they got it back?

Like when will they count the replacement, right after you call or when they receive it?
