I tried to add verbose boot to my already jailbreaked 3.1.2 firmware ipod touch 2g and ended up getting it stuck in Recovery mode.

However, if I try to restore it it says itunes will automatically update it to 3.1.3 which I know is unjailbreakable.

Is there any way to avoid this?

Restore it through the DFU Mode.

What? No. What the other guy means by control restore is when you click restore, hold control, then click restore, then let go of control.

Shift-Click Restore in iTunes and manually select a 3.1.2 FW file?

As I know, it is impossible to restore to 3.1.2, unless you previously backed up your device using cydia or rock.

you deserve everything that happened to you
    you clearly DON'T READ
    SOURCE

you CANT add verbose boot to tethered devices (late 8gb 2g ipod touch mc model and late iphone 3gs, neither ipod touch 3g)

you wont be able to downgrade and wont have a jailbreak either, you will have to wait until 3.2 fw or 4.0 fw is released until then have fun with your unjailbroken ipod 2g mc model

    NO

    next time learn to read...
