how can i remove a password through ssh

    i was in school and my douchebag friend set a password and i go to him to remove it he said he forgot it. dumb noob made a scene

    W/E THO. i dnt wanna reset it. ill lose my apps and pokemon levels hahah. so i was wondering if there was a way to remove it by ssh, i can login with no problem.

    I don't think there is a way to do it with the ipt 2.x firmware. (I think you can with older iPods).
    Here's a previous guide I found for the 1.1.x/1.2.x firmware (dunno if it works).

    Why are you guys so assuming? Meanie butts. :[

    @Radish: I buy a lot of my apps, but I usually do so on the iPT itself, so theres no memory of them on my computer. I don't see how I could get them back if I restore.

    I have no idea how to help you there. Sorry. :[

    If you've bought your apps, you can re-download them as many times as you like. You can even look in your purchase history in iTunes to see what you bought.

    If you can use SSH fine, just copy all of your Jailbroken off, then put it back on once you're restored & rejailbroken.
    You have no excuse not to resotore now!
    I agree with others though, the story seems a bit dodgy.
