I'm not sure if this is in the right place or whatever, but I have a question I have to ask.

I have a 2G iPod Touch, and I had it jailbroken to 3.0. Being the dumbass that I am, however, I chose to update it to 3.1.1 without thinking when I entered iTunes--and totally lost anything I gained after jailbreaking.

So I restored it to factory settings, and that's where it sits right now. It's essentially as if it's never been used, with 3.1.1 firmware.

How should I go about jailbreaking it? None of the methods I've tried have worked so far.

    Thanks a million.

    Either:

    1. Wait for the 3.1 jailbreak OR
    2. downgrade to 3.0 and jailbreak

Shift+click the restore button, find the firmware

I've tried that. A box pops up saying, "The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occured (20)."

And now it's totally bricked, in "restore mode," I think it's called. I have to restore it to factory settings to even get it to work.

While in DFU mode if that doesn't work.
