turn off ssh and wifi when you arn't using it, lower the brightness, set the autolock to 1 minute, and dont keep the volume too loud.

also, when you are done with it, hit the power button to lock it instead of making it autolock in a minute

when you are done with any youtube, safari etc, I hold the home button for about ten seconds to close everything. I think pressing the home button once to 'exit' an application is not really 'exiting' but more likely 'minimizing.' I just hold down the home button until they close and this seems to save me some extra time.

There is some application that can moniter your processes; you can quit them from there.

    Anyone know the name?

Use NetServices to turn off Wifi, turn off ssh, and all filesharing plugins.

    Volume level doesn't effect battery.

Keep the eq off, use pocket touch, and don't skip songs too often.

I find that extremely hard to believe. It has on pretty much every other battery operated audio device I've ever had, why would the IPT be different?

Theoretically volume level should alter battery life, but not substantially. I turn Aitplane mode on (my iPhone) and I get 24 hours of music! Don't play any games and don't turn the brightness on all the way. Also, turn off auto brightness!

Most importantly, don't be on a soft upgrade (as opposed to a real jailbreak). Soft upgrades eat through the battery like crazy.
