I accidentally upgraded my iPod 2G touch to firmware 2.2.1 after restoring it. Because of that, I can't jailbreak it. Can someone explain to me how to downgrade it to 2.1.1?

Are you sure you can do it on a 2G iPod Touch? I've tried. I ran QuickPwn and browsed for my .ipsw file. Once I found it, I got an error message in QuickPwn. It said:

The IPSW file you selected does not match any firmware version QuickPwn supports. Either the IPSW file is corrupted, or the firmware version is unsupported.

So, either my QuickPwn program is bad or my .ipsw file is bad.

On the bottom of my QuickPwn program, it says:

This version of QuickPwn supports firmware v2.2.1, v2.2, v2.1, and v2.0.x.

I downloaded the firmware from here:
    http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/

    I selected iPod Touch 2G (2.2.1/5H11a)

    Did I do anything wrong?

Download cywoods in tool and jailbreak your ipod touch in 2.2.1. I don't think you can downgrade to 2.1.1 on a 2g. I may be mistaken though
Edit:::no need for the fail person above me. He was asking a question.

MAJOR IDIOT! There is 2.1.1 only for iPod Touch 2G. And dude you can only jailbreak on 2.2.1
    ------------------double post merged------------------
I think you can by shift-restore..but I really don't care because jailbreak is only on 2.2.1

So let me clear all for you:
1.I think cywoods is a dock theme
    2.Jailbreak is only for 2.2.1
The jailbreak uses a patched IPSW from the official 2.2.1 software. The patched one contains cydia. You can do it by using xpwn, or the new GUI method. Then on every boot you need to use the boot helper or the new 1clickboot. You'll find plenty of tutorials in the redsn0w section.
    Hope I helped you.
EDIT: I'm looking in cydia for cywoods.
EDIT2: It's not in cydia. I don't think I have a source for it. Anyway it's still a theme for something
