Its well known a battery's overall lifespan will be much longer if it is charged slowly. Its estimated it can tolerate twice as many CYCLES if it is charged with a trickle instead of the regular "quick charge".

How can I charge my iphone slowly with a trickle charge instead of the default charge rate that goes from 0-100% in about an hour ?

Its nice that it charges so fast but I don't need it to. I would rather keep my battery healthy as it can be.

To my knowledge; the iPod and iPhone "quick" charge to ~80% and then "trickle" the rest of the way. I don't think it is possible to alter this.

Dont forget about the battery replacment program. I think its $45. Im not sure if the same rules apply for iPhone.
