I'm on a newly 1.1.4 jailbreak 8gb iphone and I'm wondering out of 300 mb partition how do I only have 16 MB left? I know the firmware takes up like 200 MB but still I only have about 10 apps. When I set up my comcast email account it downloaded 100s of emails and I deleted the account and started over and it removed all my email but maybe all those messages are still somewhere stored on it? I know I can use boss tools but still how am I already running low?

    hey

see d ipod reserves its os partation thus restricting u from installing many applications..
wat u need to do is install boss tool frm d installer...den run boss tool.d first option is free disk space click on that..den an option is dere to move all ur applications.......move all ur applications it will take a minute......Now u can download as much as u can....note tat wen d boss tool is working dont do anything on ur ipod till it finishes patching

I guess he said that even though I should have like a 100 megs of free space left the ipod reserves most of that space?

Indeed, the iPod reserves quite a big of space.

The solution is running BossTool to create the symlinks and move the fonts, ringtones and apps. It should have been like the third thing you did after you jailbroke it.

Can you not spell out "your" or "what"?

I moved only the fonts with boss tools and it now says I have 100MB out of the 300 so I guess I don't even need to move the other two things.

It's a good idea to do them all at the same time but you should be ok for awhile.

There's no need to move ringtone or fonts unless you plan on installing stuff. Applications are all you need to move and you'll be fine.
