Just wondering like, but does anyone think it's likely to see an all new type of iPod surface? I don't mean like a new generation of existing iPod, but like a brand new iPod. I don't really think so, there would be no real point, but hey, there might be some uh... reasons. Anyway yeah I was just wondering.

Well, there has been no rumours really, or any mention of a new iPod, but you never know really.

There might be... But later in August, we should start getting some much better rumors from better sources.

Well Apple know they are onto a winner with the ipod Touch so its likely they will milk this for all its worth until sales start to seriously decline, last year the ipod touch sold so many units in the period leading up to christmas im sure Apple will be hoping that it will do the same again. When this starts to fail to meet expectations they might bring out a new product rangs. As they say 'if it aint broke dont fix it'

The iPod touch itself is already a whole new iPod as compared with the click-wheel based ones like the nano and classic...

In a way, the new shuffle underwent something like a very radical change, who would have though Apple was able to design an iPod that has no buttons and is tinier than a stick of Wrigleys?

Nah, they wouldn't want to detract from the reputation of the ipod touch. Maybe it'll be more sleek, but not a whole lot different.

My interpretation of your question is "Will there be a new line of iPods?"

I would say No, What else is there? You got touch, nanos, videos, shuffles, etc. I'd like to see Apple reinvent the wheel again.
