    hey,
look I've got a ipod touch and I have recently got the Windows Live Messenger app its is good and I like it.While I wass discovering this new app I also saw that you could connect windows live mail up with the mail app (which I don't believe you could do before) but my problem is that the microsoft site which has this information on how to do to this is incomplete.

    QUOTE
If you have already set up an e-mail account on your phone:

    * 1. Locate the "Settings" icon on your phone's main screen
    * 2. Locate the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" option
    * 3. Under Accounts, choose "Add Account" and select "Other"
    * 4. Enter your Windows Live ID and password
    END QUOTE

This information is just not complete it doesn't detail what The incoming and outgoing mail server host names are or whether its IMAP or POP

I was wondering if you guys could help me out with the necessary information to get this thing working.

    Cheers

It's POP. The rough details are:

    Incoming: pop3.live.com
    Outgoing: smtp.live.com

For authentication fill out all the fields even if it says optional.

Microsoft are using POP3 because it's apparently speedier. This means that none on your folders will show up apart from the obvious Inbox, Sent etc. Don't expect too much of it

They will be enabled Exchange support for Hotmail soon - some user had it working for a few days but they pulled it when people got wind of the server set up. Hopefully won't be far away.
