Is it still possible in any way to downgrade from 4.0 to 3.1.2?
I have the 8gb MC so i shouldnt need shsh blobs, i have edited the hosts file to direct it to sauriks server, i have checked that the hosts file is right and im sure it is. But i keep getting error 3194. Does anyone know of a solution to this? any help would be VERY appreciated

You dont need edited host files
Are you using the 2G IPSW or the 3G IPSW?

I think you still need the shsh blobs if the firmware you're trying to downgrade to isn't being singed by apple anymore...
Even if you have sauriks server in host files if you dont have the shsh saved on sauriks server it wont work...
    That's what i think...

Remove saurik's server from your host file and shift restore to the 3.1.2 2G firmware.

Like someone said, Redownload the 3.1.2 2g firmware and restore to it.
