HMMMM... I've been wondering about the prices for the new 3G if there is one... There was a little bit of an overall price drop when the 2Gs were released yes? Maybe they will stay the same as what the 2Gs are now and 2Gs will decrease? I hope so, I don't think the prices will increase by much if any, but some people beg to differ, what do you think?

They usually ditch the old iPods when they upgrade it, or just sell the refurbs, im hopeing for the same prices as the 2G at launch, although if epic features pop up (like camera, mic etc) there will probz be a small price increase, although if its too steep im shure they will loose salls, specially in the youth region

I'd expect the prices to either remain the same or drop. Apple can't increase prices now, with companies like Microsoft having increased interest in touch-screen PMPs.

This also makes it more likely for apple to add something to the iPod line to put it a cut above the others, like a camera

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. It could have one but I don't see why Apple would really need it, I would enjoy it if they would at least keep it the same.

I agree with simsandwhich a price increase is very unlikely as the cameras apple has reportedly been buying in bulk cost roughly $10 a unit nothing extreme and apples manufacturing costs will have dropped as well. I think it will be the same price as the 2g if not slightly lower

What? wow, those are expensive cameras then, because I believed they weren't that much, unless they are better cameras...

The 2nd gen debuted at a lower price than the 1st gen. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3rd gen did too.
