Now that the iPod has been jailbroken and we have full read/write access, I wanted to know if anyone knows how to upload high resolution photos to the ipod and get them into the photo album. I really dislike how iTunes automatically resizes your photos, which not only makes it so you cant zoom without it getting blurry, but adds extra encoding artifacts to the photos. Would really like to get full (or at least reasonably higher resolution) photos into the photo albums.

If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know!

The forum has been crazy the past few days, and I havent seen any threads like this one yet, nor when I searched... if it has been posted before I apologize.

Currently there is no sort of image enhancement system on it. There is most definitely a possibility to change the clock speed of the iPod touch, but of course, someone has to find the time to do it.

I think we can expect that feature in a new ipod update ... along with the re-locking of the ipod

Its extremely stupid that itunes copies poorly downscaled photos to a device that has a nice high-res screen and specialises in being able to zoom in/out of docs and photos.

They have to fix it ... but even though i would like it ... i like jailbreak more ... so i'm sticking to 1.1.1 until 1.x firmware is released and cracked.

I actually think it is an itunes issue, not an ipod issue.

WHat im asking is there any way to get photos into my ipods photo album without going through itunes, cause itunes resizes them to ipod resolution, which i dont want.

What if you tried installing Mobile Finder via installer.app, and then create a new folder where your Library and System folders are. Then, you could SFTP into your touch and place jpegs in that folder. If you also installed MobilePreview, you could conceivably just open those files and view them at full size. Of course, it wouldn't have the scroll through images feature that photos has, but it should work... in theory.
