I was interested in trying to jailbreak the iPad but was wondering if I could hide the jailbreak apps like Cydia behind something so it would not be able to be accessed that easily. I want to do this because we sort of have a family iPad and my dad and mom would not understand a Jailbreak nor would want it and I just want to test the jailbreak over the weekend. Thanks

You could use SBsettings to hide them.

If your parents wouldn't want you to do it then don't. You do realize the only way to remove the jailbreak would be to restore which means loosing everything unless of course you back up but still not sure if a back up saves contacts, don't see why it wouldn't but...

I just want to demo the jailbreak for a couple of days and probably would not keep it on anyway. Doing a restore isn't that bad since there is only about 8gb of data on it. I remember on 2.0 or something there was a calculator or something that you could use to mask applications. Does that work on 3.0?

Yeah. On older firmwares there was an app where it would work like a calculatore but if you typed in your password then =, it would open up a list of all your apps. But thanks for the help anyway, I guess I won't jailbreak it since I would be the only using it and I don't use the iPad much anyway. Thanks
