Is there any way that I can hide my iPod from showing up on my home network?
I'm using BTHomeHub2 but I'm guessing if there is a way, it'd be the same for everything.
If you're wondering why I want to do this, it's because one of my parents is particularly strict, and tells me to 'get off the internet' when he sees that I'm connected at night. Embarassing but heh, it's common, I suppose.

Here is what appears on the HomeHub homepage:

Sounds pretty lame but I enjoy spending my nights talking to people and feeling happy. I can't now that my old man has learned a new trick, though.
ANY help would be appreciated (seriously).

I would change the hostname of your iPod to something else. For example, if you had Verizon Internet, make your iPod's hostname something like "Verizon Firewall Monitor". Or, do something like "Connection Lost" / "Device Not Found" etc.

Hopefully your dad doesn't know too much...

just changing the name of the iPod in iTunes should do the trick

He's not great, but he's probably been keeping tabs on devices connected and he'd realise that there was something weird going on if a new one randomly connected :/
Thanks anyway, any other ideas? (any at all anyone XD)?

@Tkf1: I'm an insomniac. Lying there for 4-5 hours being unable to sleep and do nothing but stare at your ceiling isn't too great

I'm using iPhone OS 3.1.2 on an iPt 2G.
Good link, but I can't figure out how I'd even begin to go about doing the same thing on iPod

You might be able to route the connection through your laptop, hiding your iPod. I think you'd need to radios in your laptop though.

I'm not positive, but I think that setting up proxy config on my iPod just worked... and hid me from the HomeHub. Which makes no sense.
Unless the HomeHub detects I'm using it by IP. Which I think it does.
EDIT: Neat, it works. I think.
Well, I showed up again after disabling it.
Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it =) Good community, here.
