Hi, My iPod touch just got back to me, the screen broke and I repairde it and got it back, a nightmare to find somewhere near me to fix it but its back in black!

I was toggling about with it when I saw on youtube a video and I heard something about cydia... i've been like 3 months KO without iPod so i'm really out of date, I've installed cydia and it looks cool etc, my problem:

I have 1.1.1, it was the easiest to jailbreak and so I did, when it all started, i've installed cydia and it says:

    you are using iPhoneOS1.x.

These versions of apple firmawre are no longer supported. You are Strongle encouraged to upgrade to iPhoneOs 2.x using Pwnage tool.

    1) opinions

    2) will it delete my songs/music/apps/ etc

    3) If so, how do I do it

    4) recomendations

    Thank you very much

1.1.1 was the first iPod touch Firmware released back in September

. Long, long, time ago in my history book. Ah those days...

Back on topic, if you upgrade to the newest firmware, 2.2.1, there is a $10 associated fee with it. However, it includes the new App Store, and hundreds of new features.

You will keep your music if you upgrade, and Installer 4 and Cydia 2 will be installed. You cannot get your current applications on 2.2.1, unless they've been ported. Check Cydia for full details.

Upgrade through iTunes, Click the Upgrade Button.

Cydia and Installer 4 will be pre-installed when you jailbreak, with QuickPwn.

Heads-up: 3.0 will be released this summer, jailbreak for iPod touch 1G released already, for the beta versions. But don't worry about that

    Here's what you do:

    Upgrade to 2.2.1.
Download QuickPwn from your windows/mac computer
Run QuickPwn with your iPod connected

Search for a sticky with more information on these forums.

Lose no data, unless you mess up
