So i just brought my ipod touch(16gb) and when i pluged it up to my computer the first 5 or 6 times it didn't show up at all. finally after i kept it pluged in then restarted the computer it showed up under devices (Like It Should). then after i registered and all that good stuff when i tried to sync it this popped up "The Ipod James cannot be synced. the Device timed out" then it said It cannot be synce because the required disk cannot be found. SOMEBODY PLEASES HELP ME THANKS

P.S. this may have been posted already and if it has im sorry about that

Is your iPod brand new? Try another USB port and see where that takes you.

EDIT: How much media do you have in your iTunes library? (Movies, TV Shows, everything.)

I was just asking because when you sync, it copies your whole library onto your iPod. If its more than, say 14 GB...

So you're saying that you could sync with other iPods either? That may suggest that the problem lies in your computer, not your iPod.

Why dont you take it to the Apple store and return it if its malfunctioning.

try to unistall iTunes and install a fresh new copy and see if that works, also try on another PC if it's still the same then send it to Apple.

Certainly take it back if it won't sync. If it's jailbroken, restore first, of course.
