    I'm new here and dont know how to ask a question

    my question for ipod touch 1g:
    I think it might have some water damange (even though i never got it near water) because the thing in the headphone jack is pinkish and the wifi doesnt really work. The lcd backlight isnt working either. will buying a new lcd fix the problem?

    If it was water damaged, the first thing to do would be putting it in a bowl of rice and letting it sit for 2-3 weeks. But now that you have used it, things don't sound too promising.

    Welcome, Once you turned it on you likely caused worse damage

    But would getting a new lcd help fix the blacklight?
    Well this is the whole story:
    I went to a repair guy to see if he could replace the battery because i thought that was the problem since the only thing wrong with it was that it wasnt charging. So the guy replaced it and it worked but when he unplugged it, it went black. So he replaced it wtih a logicboard from another ipod touch and now the screen is dim and theres a white border around it when its on. The wifi does not work i think (when i opened it myself, the little gold antena thing came off) so what should i do? get a new logic board? or a lcd?

    Welcome. Let it sit in a bowl of rice for 2-3 weeks.
