Hey! I joined this site after I found out about jiggy, since ive been programming for 3 years, and have had an ipod for 1 year, i decided i should try to make stuff for it! unfortunately jiggy uses java(or so ive heard) and i only know html, php, css, sql, gml, and C++, which are completely different from java...

since this is an intro-topic thing, ill just post random bits of info:
    -my website: http://snakeinalake.site40.net
-ive been programming for 3 years, I started when I was 10(guess how old i am!)
-I mostly enjoy making games, but i also make websites and sometimes applications.
    -i know 6 programming languages
-I hate cats >:O (completely random)

oohh well, im bored. time to look for jiggy tuts

So you know one programming language, C++, which is in fact pretty similar to java. Oh and PHP i suppose counts.

Anyway its nice to have you here

Now im confused, ive been looking for jiggy tutorials all over, and some of the ones i find say jiggy is programmed with java, and others say it is programmed in javascript. idk if its because they dont know the difference, or because it uses both. but if im going to learn one, i need to know which.

for those of u who dont know, java and javascript are 2 completely different programming languages. they were only named the same for marketing purposes. Javascript is used mainly(or completely) for websites and stuff related to html. Java can make a whole bunch of stuff such as various games, and programs, and it's supposed to be able to run on just about any platform(windows, mac, unix).

My guess is that it uses a (weird) type of javascript, since when i tried using the alert() function, it worked and i didnt get an error, but when i used the prompt, and confirm functions, I got an error. so if anyone could point me in the right direction id greatly appreciate it

Well, jiggy doesn't work for the new firmwares (anything above 2.0), so I suggest that you abandon your search.
