    heey Im new too and I dunt know what im waiting for to jailbreak it...
    im kinda nervous... Im not completely sure if it works good or if it messes with it after some time...
    Ill keep reading posts and stuff though! this is very good info on everything!

    I would recommend jailbreaking, as you get many benefits.

    It does work well, and I haven't had to restore since 2.0, besides upgrading to 2.1 and 2.2.

    another thing...
    I heard that if in the strange case that the jailbreak DOES mess with it you can simply restore it and even take it to apple if its serious.

    do they have a way of finding out you jailbroke it?
    can you get in legal problems and stuff if they do?

    (BTW i know this sounds really noob but I really have no idea :/)

    The evidence of jailbreaking is erased with a jailbreak. I believe someone said that there may be some files, but Apple won't look that hard.

    Jailbreaking is not illegal, just some things you can do with it (cracked apps) are.

    Ah.. the joys of a first get unit.. I like the other noobs just going will have to wait for the second gens to be done.. but I will..
