    Hi!

I have an Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. 8GB, an Acer Aspire 8730 w/ Windows Vista Home Premium and Internet Explorer 7.0. I have Verizon DSL (wired). I never travel w/ this laptop because it weighs a ton.

What do I need to do to get Wi-Fi onto my Ipod Touch? Do I need a wireless router, what kind? Do I need a network adaptor or card, if so, what kind?

And will this allow me to get unlimited roaming w/ Ipod on streets or buses of NYC, or in France, Italy, etc??

When I go to the wi-fi page to "join a network", I have no idea what all those names mean: "Static" "Boot" Client ID", Server, etc.... And Apple manual is no help at all. I think that they are assuming everyone has a wireless router??

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me!!

You need a g router, follow the instructions to set it up

With this you will have wifi in your house/apartment, so you can connect to the internet

While walking around New york there will not be free unsecured wifi everywhere, although some places, like starbucks, often have wifi "hotspots" in their cafe

A lot of hotels make you pay ($10?) for wifi in your room

Thank you for answering me. You say a G router, but are there certain G routers that are better than others? Or should I just go on Ebay and look for a discounted or slightly used one. Will Verizon have any problems with me if I get a wireless router?

    Verizon doesn't care

Some routers suck, so read some reviews on amazon or something to find a good one

I use Linksys. It's pretty good but sometimes you have to reset it a lot.
