    plug into computer
hold both buttons for exactly 10 seconds (no matter what)
then let go of the power button but continue holding home

did you hold both for EXACTLY 10 seconds?
That part is usually the key issue

ok, I cannot get into the menus, the home screen or anything, Only the screen with the apple logo, i tried holding buttons down and plugging it into the comp in many different methods, including the ones ppl mention, none of these work, If i do the button combo u told me about the screen goes black for a sec and back to the apple logo. i was thinking about letting the battery die and see wat happens, do u guys think this will do anything different?

I assume that you already tried pressing "restore" in iTunes.

    Ummmmmmmm

Did you try holding both for like, a whole minute?

    That worked for me

Edit: well if you can reboot it, you should be able to restore easily, was this one of those 2.0 problems, or a normal firmware
