I'm currently using 3.0 OS on my iPod Touch 2G. I've downloaded iTunes 9 and plugged by iPod into the computer. iTunes finds the update to 3.1 and starts to perform a backup. The problem is that the backup stops part of the way into the session and a message pops up saying "iPod not connected and please connect and try again". It was connected the whole time. This is the 2nd time in 2 days that I've received this error. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! P.S. - How long should the backup take on about 3g of info?

You're maybe running out of space on your computer?

    Maybe but I doubt it...

That is possible but I don't think so. I may have 10 programs at best installed on my desktop PC. I'll do some searching and thanks for your input.

Maybe the cable's bad? If the iPod mysteriously "disconnects" at random times even when you're not backing up, then it has nothing to with your storage/RAM.

    Clarification...

It only disconnects when it's performing a backup from iTunes 9. Sorry if I was unclear.
