    hey, excuse the ignorance as i am clueless with this stuff. i have been having problems with connecting my ipod touch to itunes, it isn't recognising it anywhere and i do not know how to downgrade my itunes or to re-install ht ehardware that would allow my ipod to be recognised. please help!

    A really helpful response! This will really be useful for somebody who has professed to being clueless!!!

    lordtodd21 - I have no idea what system you are using (Mac or Windows).

    Using Windows, you can uninstall through Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Control Panel - Programs and Features (Vista)

    This might not help, but it is a start.

    i have uninstalled the itunes itself however it just keeps happening, i am using windows xp. i even tried opening a new account but it still wont recognise it.

    Ensure iPod is connected

    Right Click My Computer and go to 'Manage'
    Select Device Manager

    Expand Portable Devices
    Uninstall the iPod related devices

    close Device Manager

    Disconnect iPod
    Reboot computer
    Connect iPod
