I bought my iPod touch(2nd generation), and from the day I purchased it. I been looking to jailbreak it, but been on the fence about it for a couple of reasons.

    1) Void warranty.
    2) Bricking it.
    3) Not doing it correctly.

I have heard about these automatic programs that basically do most of the work for you, but I'm still confused as to how..I'm a complete "noob", I know. If anyone has time to answer a couple of my questions. I'll greatly appreciate it.

    1) How do I jailbreak my 2.2.1 2G iPod on Windows Vista? (as in which guide can I follow..)
    2) What are ways I can brick my iPod? (so I can prevent from doing them.)
    3) What are some pros, and cons to having a jailbroken iPod?

P.S: Sorry for being such a "Noob". (lol)

    1. I really reccomend shortperson1026's GUI program, it's the one i used about 3 weeks ago. However, there are probably better programs as of now. You can find a ton of them in the redsn0w sub-forum here.
    2. Not too sure about this one, it's pretty hard to "brick" your ipod if you're not trying to. Probably one of the only ways is to mess around with terminal once you jb.
    3. Pros: Customization, 3rd party apps, Game Boy, SNES etc...
Cons: Constant fear of breaking your ipod and having no warranty

there is no chance of bricking it if u just stick to the jailbreak and dont mess around with terminal after u hack it.

Damn, I don't know what to do right now. Can someone help? I was in the middle of jailbreaking my iPod, and missed up on one of the command areas. Now my iTunes won't recognize my iPod, and I can't restore it. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

One way of bricking your ipod is when you are in a middle of a firmware restore just unplug your usb. There goes your ipod

Just redo it again put it in dfu mode.

I put it into DFU mode, and I hit restore, but it just gives me a message, and doesn't allow me to restore it.

EDIT: Never mind... thanks guys for all your help!
