I have a ipod touch 2g with 3.1.2 firmware. I used blackra1n to jailbreak it; and it's tethered! It's insanely annoying since all the help websites keep telling me that blackrain is untethered for 2g, but it isn't untethered. I have to re-"make it rain" every time I want to boot my ipod. So what did I do wrong/ didn't do?

Thanks for the help in advance

    ??
well if you have to boot with blacra1n every time you turn off your ipod, then its most likely a 3rd gen with tethered jailbreak. it still shouldnt be a big problem, just leave your ipod in sleep instead of turning it off. saves battery.

Really? I'm having to recharge my ipod more often than I'd like to. So any fixes? Or any other software I can quickly untethered jailbreak with after a restore?

leaving your ipod in sleep is better than turning on and off. you wont even remember its on. there is no untethered jailbreak for the MC models and 3rd generation ipod touch.

turn wifi off when you're not using it and turn brightness as low as your comfortable with. saves battery alot.

I don't have an MC model though o_o
Its PC,if we're refering to the first two letters of the model number.

SO is there seriously no way to fix this? THe whole tethered thing is really killing the jailbroken-ipod-happiness.

It's the 'C' that's important. The C is the part that indicates what generation it is. And no, there's no fix right now, but supposedly another dev team is gonna release one in the future.
