I downloaded twitter for my iPod touch. I set up an account. When I try to log in on my computer it says it isn't a valid username and password. I saw where it says that if I was using it on my phone that I needed to enter my number. How do I use it, since my touch doesn't have a number.

Off topic, what are the twitter names for iPhone developers that I should follow?

You've been tweeting from a mobile number, which technically isn't a valid twitter account.

Go to Twitter on your computer, click Sign Up, and click "Already using twitter on your phone? Finish signup now.

Once you finish signing up, try logging in from the app again.

Or just click the link in this post

Yes, but it is my iPod touch, which has no number associated with it...

Have you been using twitter from a cell phone before you moved to iPod touch?

Nope. But I figured out what to do, I reset the password, and I could. But, fyi, I set the account up on the iPod touch.

It all depends on who you'd like to follow. Twitter has some suggestions for who to follow in the Twitter for iPhone application and on the sidebar of their full website. A lot of forum members also have twitter accounts if you're interested in following them. I'm @spoonforknife.

Keep in mind there may be a lot "famous" people on twitter. Some may be legit (run by mainly their managers) and some may be fake.

Also, a lot of companies have twitter accounts now.

I see you've made a startling revelation. You can tell whether or not they're legitimate accounts by checking for a "Verified Account" checkmark on their profile.

That may not always be the case you know, there are some famous people who don't have their accounts verified, but we know for a fact that it's them.

You definitely don't know unless the account is verified.
