    Hey all,

I'm attempting to jailbreak my ipod touch 2g (4.1) with redsn0w. I'm at the part where it says to make sure your ipod is both plugged in AND turned off before continuing on. However, whenever I turn off my ipod while it's plugged in, it just immediately turns back on. Any suggestions?

You can put it in dfu mode for that step, so you dont have to do it next. It will skip through that part. Your best bet.

    ah, thanks.

However, it's been stuck at the uploading ramdisk part for quite some time now. Is this normal?

if you are using windows 7 or vista right click on redsn0w and under compatibility set it to Windows XP SP2/SP3. Re-run redsn0w and done

    Houston, we have no reboot...

Mine is jailbreaking to the point where it says "Performing Initial Exploit", and then it stays there FOREVER. What can I do?

I actually had to try 4 or 5 times before the jailbreak worked. can you define "forever"? i have seen times where i had to walk away during a jailbreak because it was so darn frustratingly long of a wait. 4.1 didn't seem too bad though, other than having to repeat the process several time before it worked. Then i did it several times more to play with custom boot and recovery logos.
