    Hi Everyone,

    I'm getting very frustrated with Winscp/Openssh . When I open WinSCP (on my laptop - correct?) it asks for Host name (IP Address?), user name (root?) and password (alpine?). I enter all that, click log in and then I get "Network Error:COnnection refused. I've downloaded, installed, uninstalled, reinstalled WinSCP several times. Used 4.0.7 and 4.1.6 , I think , but always the same Network Error Connection Refused.

    Where am I going wrong?

    Thanks

    Make sure the IP Address you entered in WinSCP is the same as the WiFi IP your iPod is using.

    Host name = IP
    Port = 22
    User Name = root
    Password = alpine
    File Protocol = SCP

    Make sure it's just like that , it should work.

    How do I check to see if it's turned on? I click on Clydia icon, featured packages, then BossPrefs. I see small windows - BossPrefs 2.15
    Under that is Author BigBoss (with an arrow leading to an email page)
    Under that is a "Banner" icon "Big Boss news"

    As I scroll down I don't see any mention of Openssh, nor an arrow that leads me there.

    PS Sorry if I appear a bit dense! I'm just unfamiliar with this stuff!

    The IP address I'm using is the one in "settings (on my ipod touch); wifi;choose a network; blue arrow - IP address. I presume that's the right one?

    Thanks for the tip - I'll give diskaid a try

    Install OpenSSH from Cydia.
