so ive followed the walkthrough a dozen times and still have the same problem. i start from a jailbroken 1.1.1, do the OktoPrep, update to 1.1.2 and run the windows.bat but always get this error after hitting the jailbreak button

    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: java.lang.String.contains(Ljava/lang/CharSequence

    at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

what am i doing wrong? i have it connected to my laptop (xp sp2) and have it on a wireless network and have the "install ssh" box ticked. ive tried it on and off the network and with and without the box ticked and the same error. and have re-downloaded the files plenty. any tips?

I exactly have the same problem as brasilian812! hell this drives me nuts, everything worked out perfectly until to this 2.last step... here's my error message:

"An unrecoverable error was encountered during jailbreak. See console for
    details"

and this is what the DOS-window says:

    C:\>java -jar jailbreak.jar
    PC detected...
    iPhuc at: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\v 8 speed\Lokale Einstellungen\Temp\tm
    p33277.exe
    Connecting to iPod/iPhone...
    Cannot launch iPHUC!
    Exception in thread "Thread-2" java.lang.NullPointerException

who can help out on this? would really appreciate any help

and of course i've downloaded the newest java... and oktoprep and all the prior installations worked out fine...

    Shouldn't you be running windows.bat not jailbreak.jar ?

Make sure windows.bat, jailbreak.jar and all the other files are in the same folder, then run windows.bat, if it closes instantly CD to the directory in DOS and run it from there..

well, i have all files in my jail-folder on drive C:\ and ran the windows.bat via DOS, but it doesn't run neither way... as you see below, i'm asking myself, why is iPhuc opening my document - temp folder to search for the p25602.exe?

    C:\Jail>windows.bat

    C:\Jail>java -jar jailbreak.jar
    PC detected...
    iPhuc at: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\v 8 speed\Lokale Einstellungen\Temp\tm
    p25602.exe

got it fixed... was due to an interrupted wlan-access while downloading the oktoprep, therefor i did the whole procedure again and it worked out fine
