When I try to use internet tethering on my iphone 3g my windows says "A network cable is not probably plugged in or maybe broken." I used to have the mywi app for free for 10 days and today my license expired so I bought it and when I tried to tether internet from my phone to my pc this message pops up. Any help? I tried switching usb ports and two different cables but it still says the same thing.

Why don't you use the built-in tethering. It's located in Settings > General > Network > Internet Tethering. You can tether via bluetooth or USB.

Well that wasn't available as an option. In only became available when I installed MyWi from cydia and once the 10 day free licence expired it disappeared. This seemed strange to me because as I recal the 3g and 3gs have that built into the FW. I checked on apple and it said to update my carrier settings but there aren't any for me.

Some carriers do not support internet tethering on the iPhone. I would try a restore or contact your carrier's support team.

    I have AT&T and AT&T supports it.

Did you tried the "auto fix" option in MyWi?
That should fix that problem. I used to have that problem on my phone.

As far as I know AT&T does not support tethering (assuming you're in the U.S.)

You can add tethering into your settings with a tweak though.
