    Hey guys,
I have had my ipod touch jailbroken for a long time, and I had restored it because of some issues i was having. I re-jailbroke it, and whenever i go to cydia, the home page thing says the connection timed out, and no update window pops up. also, when i try to download sbsettings it says "Dependsmobilesubstrate undefined" I was wondering if anyone could help me with this, thanks.

It seems as if Saurik's source is down. When it is up, try installing it again. If that doesn't work, then try searching for the package Mobile Substrate in Cydia.

This just means that SBSettings needs to have Mobile Substrate installed in order to properly run. Cydia can't find Mobile Substrate.

Could his source being down be the reason my Cydia crashes on opening?

No, Cydia should open even without Wi-Fi.

Enter these commands in Terminal or via SSH.
    Code:
    su root
    alpine
    apt-get remove cydia
    apt-get install cydia
